Currently living and working on a new body of work in Marrakech, Morocco as a member of The Queens Collective.
Rhombie’s artistic practice is intimately linked to her immediate origin. Born in the States and drawn to living abroad, she is deeply immersed in the cultures she explores and uses her interactions as starting points for her projects.
Her interest in interacting with members of a community stems from the idea of discovering and revealing stories of identity, in relation to the larger concept of how everyone’s stories are relatable even when variables vary. Her portraits come from her encounters made while working towards shifting from tourist to local, each portrait paired with written stories. The text is a combination of the stories shared with her and her own experience of the encounter.
Anywhere Blvd is an Instagram I curate that focuses on promoting the work of photographers who share the stories of us.
We believe in looking past our differences to what we have in common.
